This is my second chaptor the last one’s colores didnt go through so im gonna just stick with italics for thoughts.I’m also using the english names so it might be a bit confusing sorry!!! “Its gonna be okay, Sakura, *sob* we’re... *sob* fine now. We’re gonna be fine.” Maddison sobbed as she held Sakura in her arms. Sakura contineud to cry uncontrollably as the rest of the girls did until Zachery said, “Are you okay?” Everyone turned their head towards towards Li. Li sat by himself, clutching his side; head hung low and his hands were shaking.
“Oh my god, Li, are you okay!??!” Maddison cryed. Sakura looked up from her friends embrace and saw the injured Li, sitting with his back against the van wall. It finally all came screaming back to her:
The Ferris wheel,
The shattering glass,
Li jumping on top of her to save her,
The chaos and slaughter of all those innocent people and children.
“Aaaaaaaaaaah” Sakura screamed in terror at Li’s limp body. Li hearing the scream, slowly and painfully lifted his head to face the terrified girl.
“I’m okay ........... Really I am....... fine...” Li said between grunts of pain. Tori looked back seeing 3 of Sakura’s friends huddled crying in terror... Li injured saving them, Zach looking back at them with a worried expression, and Maddison and Sakura crying at the sight of Li’s blood stained face.
Why does she care for that brat so much... Don't think about that right now... Cocentrate on getting back to the house and not on the brat. Just get everyone home and Sakura will be fine. Tori thought to himself as he swerved through the streets on the quickest way home. Li sat with his head hung low wondering why this all had to happen, why did those men kill innocent people and children. Wh-why? ... then the scene in front of him turned into shadows... and then his world went black.
“Li, Li are you okay Li!!!!” yelled Maddison. Li did not reply, instead, he did the last thing that Maddison wanted Sakura to see. Li slumped slightly... then after a few minutes Tori hit a bump and swerved around a corner. The girls slid along the floor, littered with broken glass, and Li fell to one side, his head hitting the floor made a soft crunch as his head hit the glass that was strewn all over the carpet. Sakura saw this, and started to move away from Maddison, and towards Li’s unconcious body. Madison let go of Sakura half because she was shocked and second because she knew she could not hold Sakura from Li ever. Sakura clumsily crawled across the floor, her knees exposed to the razor sharp edges of glass. She wasn't thinking of herself... all she thought about was Li.
Li... Li, are you okay? Please don't leave me here... You always were there when I needed you... You gave me the courage I needed to carry on. Even after all the Clow Cards were collected, you’ve always been there for me. I need you most right now... Please... please be okay...... She thought as she finally reached Li’s bleeding body. She sat down and took Li in her arms and cried. Li’s face was experessionless as his head lay in Sakura’s lap. Sakura just stared into his face she couldn’t stand all of this pain. She heard someone crawling behind her. It was Rita, who had a bottle of water in her hand. Sakura realized what Rita was going to do without even speaking. In fact, no one spoke... It was silent except for the occaisonal bump of the van and the sound of broken glass sliding across the floor, and the dreaded sound of constant sobbing. Sakura nodded, tears fell from her eyes onto Li. Rita opened the bottle as Sakura moved Li’s hair out of the way. All Sakura could do was gasp. Blood ran down his face like a river and there were numerous cuts that looked about as painful as a broken arm. Sakura looked away crying like mad, she never saw something like this before. So much hurt pain and aggony, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned around to see Rita with a sympathetic look.
“Its okay, Sakura. He’ll be okay but we have to clean his cuts or he won't be okay... Do you understand, Sakura?” Rita explained. Rita knew that Sakura was beginning to panic and that she would have to try and calm her down or explain things slowly or she would misinterpret instructions.
“Y-ya... *sob* ... I... understand... *sniff*” Rita tipped the bottle so that a tinny bit of water splashed onto one of the long slashes above Li’s right eyebrow. It washed a little of the blood away and revealed a long deep cut. “We’re almost there, you guys’ll be okay got it?” Tori said calmly as the the van swerved onto Blossom Street. (A/N: I DONT KNOW WHAT STREET SAKURA LIVES ON) Rita and Sakura continued cleaning all the scrapes and cuts as Madison, Nikki, and Chelsea watched hoping for the best. Suddenly, the van gave a sudden swerve into the driveway of the Avalon house. In front, stood the terrified and worried Mr. Avalon, as the van screamed to a halt in front of the house, Tori jumped out of the driver's seat and ran to the back and opened the door. The girls still sat huddled watching Sakura and Rita pouring water on the cut riddled body of Li.
“I saw what happened on the news!” Mr. Avalon cried as he arrived beside Tori who stood motoinless with shock as to the scene before him, as soon as Mr. Avalon looked at Li he climbed in and knelt beside Sakura in the broken glass.
“Sakura...” Mr. Avalon said softly. Sakura looked up at him with teary swollen eyes... the emeralds which had once been there were eclipsed by fear and terror.
“H-he... s-sa-sa-saved.... m-me.” She said between sobs, tears flowed freely down his cheeks. Hearing this Mr. Avalon took the unconcious Li in his arms and carefully lifted him out of the van. He motioned for Madison, Nikki, Chelsea, Rita, and Zachery to do the same. So quietly and slowly the girls slid out of the backseat... Nikki who’s glasses were broken tumbled and tripped as soon as her feet touched the ground. Chelsea and Zachery caught her just before her head hit the side of the van.
“Come on, lets go inside quick!” Mr. Avalon commanded and slowly and timidly the girls made there way up the steps and into the house with Mr. Avalon carrying Li and Sakura holding Li’s hand until they got up to the door and she opened it for him.
~*~*~*~THE MOON MANSION~*~*~*~
“Well done, master, this is more fun... than going to the movies!!”
“What do you do plan to do next master?”
“... Something... that will show me that she is ready, Spinel."
~*~*~*~AVALON HOUSEHOLD ~*~*~
As Mr. Avalon entered the house with Li in his arms he thought about the terrible things they had been through.
Why, Sakura? Why any child? This is nothing that a child should go through.... This is something an adult shouldn’t go through. But why is this happening in the first place? Mr. Avalon thought as he lay Li down on the couch in the living room. Sakura walked slowly into the room, not sure if she should help or just stay out of the way.
“Sakura, you’re bleeding!” Chelsea said.
“Ya, look at your knees!” Zachery pointed to the rivers of blood pouring down her legs.
But Sakura didn’t feal it, in fact she couldn’t hear anything other than her own thoughts.
Li...... Li..... please be okay......... What if he’s................. dying............................. I feel NO!! he will be okay I promise you that, Li!!!........................................
Suddenly, Sakura dropped onto her bleeding briused knees and cried without even stopping for breath.
“Oh, Sakura, it’s gonna be okay. He’ll be f- *sob*... fine. Okay... I promise you,” Maddison joined her on the floor, she decided that Sakura needed someone to hold her right now and Madison let Sakura wrap her arms around her neck and cry. Madison cryed too, everyone was no one had planned for this to happen... no one ever thought something like this would EVER happen. No one had seen anything like this before... no one should have...
“Tori, get me some peroxide, gauze and medical tape from the bathroom cabinet,” Mr. Avalon commanded as he leaned over Li’s bleeding-unconcious body. Tori nodded and ran to the bathroom to retrieve the items.
“W-w-will... h-he be... okay, dad?” Sakura asked; her vioce muffled as her face was pressed against Madison’s chest.
“Yes, he will be... Are you okay?” Mr. Avalon said as he walked over to Sakura. Sakura looked up to see her father's worried face, and nodded. A few second later, Tori reapeared with a bottle of peroxide, a package of gauze and a box of medical tape and he and Mr. Avalon went to work at cleaning and bandaging Li’s wounds. Sakura detached herself from Madison and took Li’s hand. She could only think of his well being, she didn't feel the pain in her knees, only the pain in her heart as she watched her father and brother finish there work and cover him with a light blanket.
“Okay grls, are you all okay?” Mr. Avalon asked worriedly.
“Nikki’s bleeding!” Chelsea said anxiously.
“Okay, bring her here and I’ll take a look,” Chelsea put her arms around Nikki’s back and helped the limping Niki over to Mr.Avalon. While Nikki’s cut was being inspected and cleaned, Madison noticed Sakura holding the injured Li’s hand. Sakura again began to cry and slowly let her head fall onto Li’s chest and sob and after a short while, she had fallen asleep. Poor Sakura, Madison thought, I wonder if she feals the same about Li as Li feals about her!!!
“Okay girls... Come on stop crying and lets get you into some clean clothes and something to eat okay?” Mr. Avalon tried to get the terrifeid girls to stand, but they wouldn’t budge. They sat on the floor still huddled in a giant hug, they were no longer crying but you could see the paths the tears had left on there faces.
“Please girls... Once we get you into some clean clothes and get you something to eat, I’ll let you call your parents.. .How does that sound, huh?” Mr. Avalon tried again in a calmer voice. He knew the girls were terrified at what they had seen earlier would probably scare them for life, mentally and physically. At first no one moved, then slowly and timidly, Rita detangled herself from the group and stood shaking in front of Mr. Avalon.
“You are very brave, Rita,” Mr. Avalon assured her. Rita sadly smiled at the comment as Mr. Avalon guided her up the stairs and motioned for the others to follow, which they did and the sniffling girls made their way upstairs. Only Madison and Tori remained in the living room, both had there minds on one thing.
Sakura
“Do you think Sakura will be okay, Tori?” Madison asked Tori in a small vioce. For a long time, Tori didn’t answer, just stared at his poor little sister. What she had seen was more than he could bear let alone a child to understand. Tori had to be honest.
“I don’t know Maddison,” he said gravely. Madison gasped at the of Sakura not being okay. She looked at Tori once more, this time she noticed something she hadn’t the first time. Tears. Tori was crying!!!! But he made no noise... nothing... just a straight face. That's when Mr. Avalon came down the stairs, Tori quickly wiped off his eyes with the sleeve of his jacket, and asked:
“Where are the others?”
“I gave them some of Sakura’s clothes, so they're upstairs changing. Why don’t you put the kettle on for me, Tori?” Mr. Avalon answerd and gave another task for Tori to fill. Tori nodded and ran to the kitchen. She checked on Sakura and Li, (who were still sleeping... and unconcious) before she went up to Sakura’s room to check on Chelsea, Rita, and Nikki. She slowly made her way up the narrow hardwood stairs up to Sakura’s bedroom which was the first room on the right. She got to the top of the stairs and knocked on Sakura’s door.
“Are you guys okay in there?” Madison asked.
“Y-ya, we’re fine...” Rita replied half scared and half relieved.
“Can I come in?”
“Y-ya... okay.”
Slowly Madison turned the knob and pushed the door open. Rita sat on the bed wearing Sakura’s kaki shorts and orange sweater and suspenders, Nikki puzzling holding her broken glasses in her hands wore Sakura’s baggy green sweater and turquoise skirt, and lastly Chelsea wore Sakura’s long yellow shirt and her black leeyatards (AN: I DONT KNOW HOW TO SPELL THEM). Each also wore a very grim expression.
“I can’t beleive it,” Chelsea broke the silence, “I just won’t.” “I know its hard, Chelsea, but we’ll get through it,” Madison said sitting herself next to Chelsea on the bed put her arm around her. Nikki slipped back on her glasses and joined them in another group hug.
“Come on... let's go downstairs and get something hot to drink... It soothes the nerves,” Madison insured and led Chelsea out of the room followed by Rita helping the stumbling Nikki who was having a hard time seeing because of her broken glasses. They all went down the stairs silently (except for Nikki who stumbled three or four times) on their way to the kitchen they stole a look at Sakura who still slept with her head rested on Li’s chest. They all gave Sakura a sympathetic look then entered the kitchen. Madison stooped before the living room enterance.
“I’ll be right there,” she said never taking her eyes of Sakura. She knelt beside Sakura and put her hand on her shoulder gently. Sakura stirred slightly but otherwise stayed the same. Madison looked at the injured Li laying (except for his breathing) motionless. He had bandages over his left eyebrow, his right side, his left temple, and multiple bandages his chest that could be seen through the large slash marks on his shirt. His face with exclusion to the cuts and slashes was peaceful. The scowl was gone from his face and he didn’t look so fierce.
Maybe I should wake Sakura up? She needs to change and maybe have something to eat any way so... Madison thought. She finally decided to wake her up, she placed her other hand on her other shoulder and shook her gently. She gave up after a few minutes and began her way to the kitchen to join the other girls... She had gotten to the living room door when she heard: “... M-... m-m-... Madi-... Madison?" It was a rough voice then she heard a painful grunt and a gasp. Madison knew it must be Li. She spun around on her heals and ran back to the couch to find Li. His eyes squinting at the light. His face no longer looked peacful or fierce in fact it was a face common with Li.
Pain.
“Are you okay, Li!” Madison cried. Li said nothing just gasped inward and outword.
He’s having trouble breathing!!! Madison thought. Mr. Avalon, Tori and Zachery who had been making tea in the kitchen appeared in the door to find Madison leaning over Li with a concerned expression.
“Tori, why don’t you look for one of the shirts that you’ve outgrown for Li?” Mr. Avalon asked as Chelsea, Nikki, and Rita joined in the group by the door. Zachery slowly made his way over to Li as well, Li looked awful. Mr. Avalon came over and motioned Madison and Zachery to step away. Li gasped inword and outword...
What is wrong here? It's like I can’t breath... Li thought as he looked down and realized that something was on his chest but he couldn’t see it. It was blurred and something was moving but yet he didn’t know what it was. Li lay his head back down and gasped even harder. Everything was spinning to Li... It was a nightmare come true!!! Li tried to scream but all that came out was a loud gasp for air.
The group standing by the door gave horrified looks at the air deprived Li. Mr. Avalon slid his arms under Sakura’s armpits and lifted her sleeping form. He picked her up and carefully, without waking her placed her on the opposite couch. Li started to breath normally but his eyes would not adjust the bright light coming from the window above the couch.
I can’t see anything... evrythings, ... spinning... and ... blurry... my eyes... they hurt to open them.
Suddenly the images from the fair came screaming back to Li... and he couldn't stop it... Li couldn't even move; the pain made it impossible.
Was it all...... just a dream....... or a... dream of a dream... Li thought.
“Li... Li Showron?” Mr. Avalon asked but Li couldn’t hear him; it echoed in his mind... the pain filled his head and covered his eyes like a burning blindfold. Tori reappeared with a small red white and blue soccer jersey and the matching shorts about Li’s size.
“Would everyone leave the living room for a minute, please,” Mr. Avalon commanded gravely. Everyone stayed still for a few moments then silently returned to the kitchen. After Tori had handed him the clothes and left, he turned his head toward Li.
“You saved my daughter...” Mr. Avalon said standing and shutting the blinds that shelded the light that stung Li’s eyes. Li tried opening his eyes a few times. Finally, they both adjusted and opened to see Aiden Avalon beaming down on him.
“W-wher- where?” Li said with great difficulty speaking as he faded in and out of conciousness. He looked all around; things were still a little blurry but he could recognize objects but things that moved too quickly made him dizzy.
What am I doing here? All I remember is being in the back of a van and then... pain..... and then black..... and now..... I’m in Sakura’s living room... How did I get here...? Where is Sakura...? Is she okay...?
“I-i-is Sakura o-okay?” Li stammered out in pain. Mr. Avalon stared at him for a moment... then beamed at the boy.
This boy is ready to put others he cares for before him... even.... when he’s in pain... He is very brave...
Mr. Avalon nodded and pointed to the couch opposite to the one Li was on. There lay Sakura sleeping peacefully on her back.
“Tori told me you saved her...” Mr. Avalon said kneeling beside him once more.
I’ve got to get up and help out. Li thought. A few minutes later, Li propped himself up on his elbows and with much difficulty sat up. Li’s head was starting to clear and work properly as to his surroundings. Mr. Avalon handed him the clothes and with a calming smile helped Li to his feet. I can barely feel my legs. Li thought as he stumbled and took a few steps... getting used to walking.
“I want you to go into that room over there and change into these clothes. Okay, Li?” Mr. Avalon pointed to a room just across the hall. Li nodded and clumsily walked to the room, opened the door and entered. I don't even remember how I got here... I feel so dizzy... ugh... At least Sakura is okay...
Mr. Avalon returned to the kitchen and in moments was flooded with questions.
“Is Li okay?”
“How hurt is he?”
“Can he walk?”
“Yes, girls, he is fine; he is changing right now, and he will be out in a minute,” Mr. Avalon assured them. “But you’ll have to take it easy on him. He’s still having a hard time remembering how he got here and he’s having trouble walking.”
“Okay...” Everyone repleid worriedly.
I hope Li’s okay... by the look on Mr.Avalon’s face it looks like Li must be in real pain. Maddison thought. She decided to wait outside the door for him.
Oh, god, I feal like I've broken everything... Why can’t I remember how I got here... It must be a dream... something this horrible... it has to be... Li thought.
“Hey Li, are you okay in there?” came Madisons reasuring voice from the other side of the door. Li couldn’t answer loud enough for her to hear... his voice was nothing but a hoarse whisper. He tried to yell but nothing came out; he felt......... trapped.
Why can’t I talk...? I feel funny...... I don’t know what it is, though... I feel... a power from somewhere but I can’t pinpoint it... Oh, I feel dizzy...
Suddenly, there was a commotion outside the door. Li dressed as fast as he could (which was still pretty slow) and limped out of the bathroom, trying with all his might not to collapse. He looked around but no one was there. He heard a person say:
“Oh my god, Sakura!!!”
“Will she be okay!!!?”
“I’m gonna be sick.”
Li limped as fast as he could into the doorway of the living room. Just as he was about to collapse he grabbed onto the wall for support and looked at the group of people formed around the couch Sakura lay upon. ”Sakura!!!” he whispered then fell to his knees.

“Awwe, poor Li... seeing the sight of Sakura’s mangled legs must have terrifeid him so much he collapsed... hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!”
“Now, now Ruby that's not very nice... well, you do have a point... What shall you do know master, since the boy and girl are again... unconcious?”
“Hmmmmmmmm... I will wait till the most perfect time possible... then the fun will begin heheheh.”
~*~*~*~Sakura’s dream~*~*~*~
... Who are you...? Am I supposed to know you...? You're lost, aren’t you?
Sakura standing in the shadows of the woods with a figure in black... standing very still with a sword in a ready positoin. Blazing red hair flowed in the wind like a gentle flame. Big blue-aqua eyes... as cold as ice stared into hers in fear... ready to defend herself if the stranger made a move but the face other than the eyes were in shadow.
The lady didn’t look much older than she was... but equally as scared. Don’t worry I won’t hurt you I promise... I can help,” Sakura said calmingly, she was wearing her school coat for warmth on acount of it was snowing heavily all around them... making it even harder to see the mysterious person in black.
Sakura took a step forward.
The other girl took a step back.
“What is your name?” Sakura asked. shadows around them crept in... swalloing the scene before her.
Then there was a distant light, like at the end of the tunnel, which kept getting closer and closer until...
~*~*~*~AVALON LIVING ROOM~*~*~*~
“Sakura are you all right!!!” Madison cried as she wrapped her arms around Sakura’s neck sobbing wildly. Sakura was almost completely awake when the ful-pain of her legs took over.
“Aaaaaaah, my legs!!” she shouted in pain. Madson backed off as Mr. Avalon strolled in with a glass of water and a pain killing pill.
“Here, these will make your legs feal better, Sakura. Don't worry,” he said, handing her the glass and pill.
Sakura popped the pill in her mouth and took a big gulp of water. The pill was like trying to swallow and elephant and an aqarium full of water. Sakura swallowed hard. She sat up a little baring the pain and looked around. Nikki was on the phone (probably to her mom) Chelsea and Rita were sitting on the floor infront of the TV watching the evening news. But where was Li? She looked for a few minutes and realized Zach wasn’t there either.
“H-hey where's Zach and Li?” Sakura asked to nobody in particular. Madison and Mr. Avalon exchanged glances and for a second Sakura thought the worst. “He’s resting right now, you gave him quite a scare,” said Mr. Avalon and returned to the kitchen where he had been making a supper. Madison sat on the edge of the couch with Sakura.
“I had a weird dream, Maddison... It was about... a girl wit long wavy red hair... and big blue eyes... eye’s... like ice... It made me cold just looking at them... what do you think Madison?” Sakura explained.
“I don’t know, Sakura” she whispered so the girls wouldn’t hear them. “Haven’t you had prophetic dreams?”
“Yes... Do you think it's prophetic, Madison?”
“I don’t know but you had dreams about a girl who looked familiar and it turned out to be someone you know... do you think the girl in your dream was Ms. Mackenzie?”
“No, it wasn’t her. It couldn't have been... Ms. Mackenzie has big amber coloured eyes and she was much older... but this girl was much much younger than her... about our age, Madison, and she had icy blue eyes... not like Ms. Makenzie’s,” Sakura explained.
“Maybe Kero knows,” Madison guessed.
“Right, Kero would know,” Sakura said as she slid her legs of the couch and onto the floor, using her arms she pushed off the couch and fell backwards in pain.
“Sakura, you shouldn’t do that. You could hurt yourself even more!” Madison scolded.
“O-okay, Maddison... but how, will I talk to Kero if I can’t get off the couch. I would collapse before I took two steps toward the stairs.”
“What if Kero came down here?” Came a hoarse voice from behind them. Madison and Sakura looked to see Li sitting on the couch with calm expression on his face... but Sakura had known him long enough to know that that look just hid the great ammount of pain he was in. Li had bandages everywhere on his head and arms and legs...
“Li! You're awake!” Sakura cried.
“Ya, I am,” Li said hoarsely then picked up a glass of water up off the table and painfully took a few sips.
“How could he, Li, without Nikki, Chelsea, Rita, Tori, and Sakura’s dad not see?” Maddiosn asked doubtingly.
“You could go up put him in your hand bag and bring him down and let him quietly talk to Sakura,” Li explained, his voice getting worse and worse. Maddison rushed upstairs with her small handbag.
“Okay, that sounds like it might work,” Sakura said flashing a painful thank-you smile over at Li.
Sakura didn’t see but Li was blushing like mad. It had gotten dark, it was now 8 o’clock and the girls Nikki, Rita and Chelsea had not gone home.
“Are you guys staying here?” asked Sakura still sitting upright on the couch. “Ya, our parent are all at Chelsea’s house for the night, after they heard they thought it would be safe and they thought it would be safer if we stayed here where they would know we were all safe at the same time,” Rita explained. Suddenly, the speaker on the news came back on from a commercial break. But instead of being the short blonde haired lady who usally is the news anchor, she was replaced with...
A MAN IN A BLACK UNIFORM!!! THE SAME UNIFORMS AS THE MEN AT THE AMUSEMENT PARK.
Everyone in the room gasped. The news had been taken over by those evil men!!!! Li gave an inward gasp as the man said his next words. Madison reappeared from the top of the stairs and stared shockingly at the living room telivision. Mr. Avalon and Tori also sped into the room, horrifically watching the TV set. <> “It has been requested,” the man in the unifrom spoke. ”By our master that we find the two so called Card Captors and others in their aqaintence... and destroy them.”
Madison, Li and Sakura were speechless. Were they to blame for the disgusting slaughter at the park?
“Aaaaaaaaah” Sakura screamed. She began to cry hard until she felt strong arms around her. She looked to her right to discover Li holding her tight with the same expression she had.
Scared.
Li placed himself beside her and let her cry on his shoulder.
“Sakura, what's wrong?” Nikki asked her. Nikki also was crying... once more all the girls were... as again they were faced with the evil demonic men who caused them so much pain that day.
Sakura just kept crying. But she couldn't help feeling protected in Li’s strong embrace.
“We’ll be okay, Sakura. Don’t worry,” Li cooed. Hiding the fact that he too was scared to death. Madison ran over to Sakura and placed her bag beside her. As everyone’s head again turned towards the TV. Kero poked his head out.
“I heard...” was all he could say.
“What are we gonna do?” cried Sakura, her voice slightly muffled as her head pressed against Li’s shoulder.
“I don’t know, Sakura,” Li admitted hoarsely.
“I think you should get as far away from here as possible!” Kero said half forgetting to whisper. ”Those men killed innocent people and they won’t think twice about harming you,” Kero said gravly. Sakura just cried even harder.
“I think the little toy is right,” came a whisper from behind them. Slowly they all looked back and saw the thing they worried about most.
There stood Tori crouched beside Li with a slightly scared expression. “T-t-t-t-Toriii?” cried Sakura. ”U-u-gh-ugh, I can explain... I ugh...”
Tori raised his hand quieting his liitle sister. Everyone was shocked they didn’t know what to say.
“I’ll take you all somewhere where you can be safe... Card Captors.”Tori winked at Kero who stood still as a tree, his mouth gaping open.>_<
“Listen I think I know where I can take you,” Tori said stealthily. “H-h-how d-di-did you kn-know?” Li stammered hoarsely, his eyes open as far as they could go staring at Tori whose face was slightly hidden from the darkness of the room.
“Tori, do you think we should hide?” questioned Madison.
“Yes, in fact I will take you, Li, Madison, and the others somewhere where you can be safe until I can bring you back when it's safe,” Tori explained to the frightened kids.
It just keeps getting worse and worse for them and this is all I can do!!!!! Tori’s brain battled.
“Where will we go?” asked Madison starting to get nervous.
I can’t believe Tori found out... how long has he known? I’m supprised he’s not having a fit... he seems almost calm about his!!! I’m kinda glad he knows... now I don’t have to hide Kero in my room when we’re alone in the house together... but... those men... why do they want to destroy us? We did nothing to cause such pain like... this... like Li’s pain and Nikki’s... Sakura thought as her anger and vulnerability fed her power. Li still held Sakura in a tight embrace as she whimpered slightly, it all was happening so fast... all in the same day they had witnessed the massacre of innocent people and Li and her friends surviving when so many did not, and her brother, finally figuring out that she and Li have special powers—that she is a Card Captor...
“I’ll tell dad and I’ll load you guys into the car and take you there,” Tori said as he stood and turned around.
“Tori...” Li whispered.
“Ya.”
“Can you leave out the part about us being the ones those men are looking for... you know... Card Captors.”
“Okay, I will.”
I still hate the brat but he has powers... like Sakura and they can work together if they get in trouble. Tori thought as he strolled over and whispered his plans to Mr. Avalon. At first Mr. Avalon looked confused and sent worried glances at the children.
I can’t beleive Tori found out!!! and it was just because we talked to loud... I hope no one else heard... Li looked at the girls who were still. After a few minutes Mr. Avalon nodded and clapped his hands to get everyones attention.
I wonder where Tori will take all of us. It's best for everybody I geuss we put them in danger so I geuss this is the least they could do for them.
“Everyone, me and Tori think it would be safer if you all went into hiding until it's safe again.”
For a moment eveyone was silent, taking in what Mr. Avalon had said.
“But those men aren’t looking for us...” Chelsea quietly said. ”They are looking for those... Captors or something.”
“Yes, but they killed all those innocent people just looking for them.” He replied. “What makes you think that if they come looking for them here that they will spare harming you.”
Everyone in the room again fell into silence.
“Okay...” Rita repleid... frightened and tired at the same time.
“But where will we go?” tried Nikki.
“To the forest,” Tori replied gloomily. ”I’ll stock you up with supplys and you will all go into the forest and hide for a while...”
Li looked down at Sakura and Sakura looked up at Li with frightened expressions. Madison gulped heavily and Kero sat very still like he was in shock.
This isn’t looking too good... Kero thought. I have to speak to Yue about this...
“When are we gonna go? And shouldn’t our parents know?” Zachery asked unexpectedly sitting next to Chelsea on the floor in front of the telivision set.
“Tonight,” Tori said flatly. “Hurry, we have to try and make it out of here by midnight.” He added as he flew out of the room and headed for the basement. “I’ll get a tent and some blankets for you all.” He yelled from the bottom of the stairs.
“I’ll get some food and medical supplies in case...” Mr. Avalon trailed off; he didn’t even like the thought of Sakura’s friend getting hurt... but they were and there just wasn’t anything to stop it... he felt defeated.
“I’ll get other things that could be useful... I've been camping since I was 6.” said Rita gloomily.
“I still don’t really see why we have to go, I mean, they're looking for two people called Card captors?”
“What's a cARD cAPTOR ANYWAy?”
“Ya, they sound like a bunch of clowns,” the girls started shooting questions at each other.
Sakura and Li both sweat dropped.
I am not a clown!!! How dare they!!! Li thought, he was about to say something to the girls when Sakura put a finger to his mouth.
“Shhhhhhhhhh, they don’t know it's us. I’m sure if they knew what a Card Captor is and if they knew it was us they would understand... they're just... scared like us.” Sakura explained in a voice so low that Li and Madison had to lean closer to hear her.
“Okay, when Tori has you all loaded I want you to go deep into the forest and hide. You can use the Maze, the Illusion, the Mist and the Loop to keep the men out and away from you all.” Kero explained as again Sakura began to cry. Kero floated up and put his very short arms around Sakura’s neck and gave her a comforting hug.
“We should help dad and Tori get ready,” Sakura said after finding her breath. She again tried the process of getting herself off the couch. Pushing herself up she tried to stand. She looked down at her legs. Her knees looked really big as they were wrapped in layer and layers of medical tape and gauze. Li helped her up and put his arm around her shoulders and she put her arms around his shoulder and he helped Sakura walk. Sakura winced in pain every few steps and tripped quite a many times, before they reached the kitchen. Tori was putting cans of soup and boxes of cereal in a duffle bag that Tori used for soccer.
“Tori?” Sakura asked.
He spun around to see his sister limping into the room with the help of that brat.
“Sakura, you should be resting before we leave,” Tori said not bothering to whisper because they were out of earshot of the other scared girls and Zachery.
“We want to help,” Li announced hoarsely.
“No, you should both be getting rest,” Tori scolded them. “I have it under control. But I want to go over a plan I have your not going to like it but it will have to do until Tomeoda is safe again.”
All three kids nodded.
“Okay, well... I’m going to be dropping you off at the edge of the forest...If I see trouble I’ll take you further in but if trouble happens in the forest when your alone... I won't be able to help you..... so you have to rely on each other... Now I don’t know if anyone lives in the forest but I would steer clear of man made roads and buildings if you do because chances are that those men aren’t gonna wan’t to get lost out there so their gonna probably stick to the roads. I want you to come home alive Sakura...” Tori hung his head low as he dropped more food into the bag. Just then Mr. Avalon came up from the basement with a small box.
“Alright... I found it this is a tent that when you open the box it will spring out and pitch itself up. All you have to do is hammer the pegs down,” he said breathlessly. He was obviosly scared.
“What if we run out of food before we come home?”asked Madison shaking slightly at the thought of being alone in the forest in the middle of October... all creepy and stuff.
“I know how to hunt,” replied Li.
“Ewww, no way, am I gonna watch you kill a little animal, Li!!!” cried Madison.
“Well, that might happen so...” Li said before he started coughing slightly.
“Li is right, Madison. It could happen now I don’t wan’t you to be scared. I want you to be safe,” Mr. Avalon tried breathlessly.
“Well, let's see,” Tori said “We have shelter and food... we need water... I’ll find that case of water bottles from under the sink.”
“Good thinking, Tori,” Mr. Avalon rushed with him. Madison, Li and Sakura decided that they should go back to the living room.
Zachery was telling Chelsea about “the person who invented camping” which wasn’t helping Chelsea’s already paranoic mood. Rita and Nikki were talking about why all this had happened and as the group passed by them they heard something like this.
“Do you think those Card Captors are thiefs or criminals or even terrorist!!!” Nikki exclaimed.
“I bet that they're some kind of evil organization or something,” Rita replied tryng to look awake because she was falling to sleep fast.
Li helped Sakura into a sitting position on the couch and they both plunged backward onto the couch with exhaustion. Li sat on Sakura’s right and Madison on her left. Kero once again climbed out of Madisons handbag.
“This doesn’t seem right,” Kero said, “I’m gonna talk to Yue.”
“You can’t, Kero. One of the girls will see you or...” Maddison trailed off. “Or... you could get shot out of the sky.” Li finished in a voice just above a hoarse whisper.
“Oh no, Kero. Don’t go please... I don't wan-want that to happen...” Sakura stammered into another crying fit.
“It's okay, Sakura. That won’t happen I will just stay in my borrowed form until I reach the house that Julian satys in.” Kero said taking two of her fingers and holding them between his paws.
“O... o, I don’t know, Kero... if they’re looking for us wouldn’t they be looking for you too?” Li asked, his eyes drooping slightly as it was getting late. It was almost 12 o’clock p.m.
“We should get going soon,” Tori called from the kitchen.
How can I do this to her!!! She deosn’t understand what's going on. She needs someone to protect her. This is the only thing we can do for her now. Tori thought as he zipped up the bag with the food for the trip. I mean I almost didn't get any reaction when I told them I was gonna hide them. They were like mildly delirious. When they step foot into that forest... it will dawn on them that there is danger around every corner and that some people can not be trusted.

“Yes, Tori, you are absolutly right... hmm hmm hmm”
“You have something in mind, don’t you, master?”
“Of course, he does, Spinel. The master always has something planned, don’t you, master?”
The young boy with short black hair and saphire blue eyes smiled evilly back, but said nothing. Instead he watched as the fire in the fire place in front of him blazed on, reflecting furiose flames in his glasses.
~*~*~*~AVALON HOUSEHOLD~*~*~*~
“Okay, guys, I think it’s time to leave,” Mr. Avalon said, hating every word of it. He didn’t want to let his little cherry-blossom go out in the world with almost no protection. Tears ran down Sakura’s face as Li again helped her of the couch and to the front door.
“N-n-now I want you to b-be careful, you hear me?” Mr.Avalon stammered, trying not to cry as he put his hand on her chin and pulled her head so she was looking at him. He tried his hardest but tears flowed down his face as he pulled Sakura into a tight hug. Li looked down at the heart-breaking sight before him and he thought of his mother and his four sisters back in Japan.
“Mr. Avalon...” Li said in a whisper barely hearable.
“Yes, Li,” Mr. Avalon replied, not detatching himself from Sakura until the last second.
“C-can you call my mother, Yelan in Japan and tell her about...”
“Of course, I will, Li.”
“C'mon, girls,” Tori regreted saying it but ”It's time to go.” One by one the miserable girls: Nikki, Chelsea, and Rita followed by Zachery giving Chelsea a helping hand up. Sakura, Li and Madison stayed outside for a few more minutes just in silence. Then Tori placed a hand on Mr. Avalon’s shoulder and nodded his head slowly. He let go of Sakura with much hesitation. Madison linked arms with Sakura and helped her into the back of the minivan. (A/N: Tori cleaned the glass out of the back before they got in.)
Only Li remained. Tori went and jumped into the driver's seat, and waited for Li.
Li started limping when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up to see Mr. Avalon staring down at him with a worried expresion and said, “Li, can you do me a favor?”
Li nodded.
Mr. Avalon handed him his sword and sheath.
“Make sure my daughter makes it through... will you do that?”
Li who was shocked that he forgot his sword, nodded once more before Mr. Avalon helped him into the back of the van, shut the door and waved good-bye to his only daughter as she rode off into the night.
Right down the path of danger. ~*~*~*~MOON MANSION~*~*~*~
“Perfect... just as I planned it... This will be very... interesting... hmm hmm.”
~*~*~*~BACK OF THE MINIVAN~*~*~*~
“Do you think we’ll be alright?” Chelsea asked as Zachery held her hand. “I don’t know Chels,” Zachery said. They were all cramped in between 4 rolls of sleeping bags. A duffle bag full of food and a small box with the self-setting tent.
Tori turned the corner and the HEAVY duffle bag of food slid into Sakura’s legs causing her to yelp in pain.
Li couldn’t reach her from where he sat. Li sat in between Rita and Nikki with there backs up against the back of the backseat. Zach and Chelsea lent under the window on the right and Sakura and Madison lent under the window on the left side.
Silence greeted them eerily as they flew swiftly and soundlessly down the streets of Tomeoda. The full moon beat down on them giving Sakura the eeriest feeling.
Why did this have to happen? This question keeps racing through my mind. The moon... MY DREAM!!! Could it have been prophetic? Kero says expect the unexpected but how can I expect something when I don’t know when or where to expect it? Now I’m just confusing myself... Too many topics...... But what if there are ghosts in the woods... oh no!!!!! Don’t get scared, Sakura, don’t get scared now. It will just make everything worse. I need to concentrate on how I’m gonna keep the everybody safe...
Li could see that Sakura was battling with her brain... but he couldn’t help her right now he was out of reach.
I want to be there for Sakura. I don’t want her to ever be out of reach when she needs help.
Suddenly, a series of gunshots wrung through the chilly air and Tori stomped on the gas, causing everyone that had all ready been screaming, to scream in pain. For all of that heavy bag of food flung itself whenever Tori turned the corner.
“Oh no, they must have saw us!!!” Nikki screamed.
Madison and Sakura held each other for dear life and gunshots rang out in every direction. One of the bullets zoomed through the window just missing Chelsea’s head and zooming out the opposite window.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaah,” cried Maddison, Sakura, Nikki, Chelsea and Rita all together. Zachery and Li exchanged worried glances at each other. Finnally Li took action.
“Everyone in the center!!” He yelled hoarsely, and everyone did as they were commanded. They all gathered in the center, pushing sleeping bags and the heavy duffle bag into the corner.
Shots rang out everywhere. Sakura and Li exchanged I’ve-got-an-idea glances at each other and yelled:
“Everyone, shut your eyes and put your hands over your heads for protection!!!” After everyone had done so Li gave Sakura a thumbs up. I have to do this so none of the girls or Zachery can hear it... I have to say the words so I’m gonna have to whisper... Sakura thought taking the key from the chain which held it around her neck.
“Key of the star, with powers burning bright, reveal the staff and shine your light. Release...” She whispered and the magic circle apeared on the floor and wind swirled around them. Nikki and Rita feeling the wind began to whimper in fear, their eyes shut tight.
“I call upon the powers of my star.
Ancient forces near and far.
Clow Card, transform all your might,
and draw your power from my light! Sheild Card!”
For a few moments nothing happened then a glowing pink orb surrounding the minivan appeared and as soon as it appeared it disappeared creating and invisible shell, reflecting bullets that crossed paths with the speeding van. Sounds of gunshots got fainter and fainter until they could not be heard any longer.
“Is it over?” Nikki whimpered in fear. Sakura quickly returned the staff into the key and put it back around her neck.
“Ya, its okay now. You can open your eyes and sit up,” Li said releaved. Sakura sighed an close-one sigh.
“What was that?” Zachery asked, ”I thought I saw a light through my eyelids.” “Oh we ugh... just... passed under a street lamp. That's all hehehe,” Sakura sweatdropped.
Zachery and the others opened their eyes and sat up. The streets were black. Not a working streetlight in sight.
Zachery gave a suspicious glance at Li and Sakura who were acting quite odd. Li didn’t like the suspicious air in the back of the van so, painfully and without saying he moved up and sat in the passenger's seat beside Tori. “What was that?” Tori whispered in wonder, keeping his eyes on the moonlit road as they moved into the country-side of Tomeoda.
“That is... hard to explain,” Li replied hoarsely, his throat bothered him a lot and most of anything he said sounded like something a frog had said it. And for a long time everyone sat in silence wondering at the peacefullness of the country-side. And it wasn’t long before the edge of the forest came into view. Feeling safe here: Nikki, Chelsea, Rita, Zachery, Sakura and Madison peered over the edge of the windows (which had been broken when Tori crashed through the metal gates of the amusement park) and saw the eeriest thing ever.
The forest was dark... not just dark, pitch black! And the trees loomed over them like enormous haunted houses reaching for the sky... the full moon shone over the horizon giving an eerie glow to the already creepy scene. Tori looked at the forest and shivered. It was chilly. He pulled onto an old bumpy dirt road which bumped the people inside like a tranpoline. Then Tori did something unexpected, he turned off the dirt road and up an old four wheeler track up a huge steep hill wich had to be 245 feet tall covered in dark ugly trees. All the kids in the back of the van slowly slipped backwards hitting the back wall. Once Tori got to the top he turned off the track to the right. Now he was off all roads, and was heading slowly into the dark woods. He dodged a few trees and then slammed the brakes really hard jolting all the kids forwards. They slid the back door open and clumsilly filed out of the van. Tori jumped out really quick and helped Sakura to her feet when she slid out of the van. Li walked around the other side of the van, using its body for support. The long stems of grass tickled his legs as He turned around the corner to see Tori had taken out all of the supplies and was telling everyone to follow him a liitle further into the forest. Nikki shivered at the eeriness of the dark forest. Chelsea clung to Zachery’s side, Rita kept close to Madison and Sakura. Sakura had linked arms with Madison and was helping her along the way with Tori leading them deeper into the woods carrying the sleeping bags and the duffle bag of food. Zachery carried the box with the self-setting tent in it. Li tagged along the end of the group just taking it all in.
Well, this is where we are going to be staying for a while so I might as well get used to it. Li thought then he heard a gasp of fear from the head of the group; they had stopped. Sakura and Maddison and Rita stopped to and looked down and forwards and disppeared at what they saw.
They were on a 150-foot tall cliff with a straight drop to the bottom. It made you dizzy just looking down. It was so high, higher than even Li or Sakura have ever seen.
And if you looked straight ahead you would see the sad invaded town of Tomeoda. Tomeoda was pitch dark with only a few lights on. No cars could be seen. No sign that something lived in Tomeoda, except for a long, moving black line in the main square. N,o it wasn’t a moving line...it was...... men. Some Nikki, Rita, and Chelsea let out muffled screames as they clutched each other tightly.
Men in black uniforms, by the thousand it seemed walking down the streets. They were only visible as lines for the group who had escaped were so far away that Tomeoda skyscrapers looked like straws sticking up from the ground. Tori shook his head disgustingly.
“Now, listen to me,” He said facing the group. The group stared at the scene that was their town being invaded by evil men terrified them, but they listened intently.
“Whatever you do don’t go off by yourselves and if you need to move your camp site remember to leave no sign that anything was there okay? Try and make your food last. And I have a radio you can have so that you will know what happens okay?” Tori told them as if instructing an army. The group nodded as a few of the girls started crying. Madison held Sakura trying to keep her warm because she had forgotten her coat. Tori walked over to her, shrugged of his jacket and put it around her shoulders. She smiled through her tears at him and gave him a huge hug. They stayed like this for a long time, then Tori stood up.
“Be careful okay... little monster,” Tori said tears now running down his face.
“I... I... will, big brother,” Sakura said.
“Okay, I’ll be going now. I will come back for you when it is safe. Hopefully
that won’t be to long,” he said shakilly giving Sakura one last hug before he
went. He let her go and as he passed Li he put his hand on Li’s
shoulder.
“You take care of my little sister, kid,” Tori said then got into the van and
drove off into the distance. Sakura watched as her older brother disappeared
into the darkness. Tears spilled from her eyes onto her brothers coat.
Madison tried comforting:
“It's okay, Sakura. Tori will be fine. I’m sure of it and we’ll be okay
too.” Failing to comfort Sakura, Madison turned to Li and gave him a
please-help-her-I’m-worried look. Li nodded and walked in front of Sakura and put
both his hands on her shoulders just as her father had done.
“We are going to be fine... I promise.” With that Li took one of his hands of
her shoulder and held out his pinky finger. Sakura looked up at him. Her big
emerald eyes were filled with fright and saddness and it ripped Li’s heart
apart. She slowly raised her pinky finger and wrapped it around his and shook
3 times.
“There now... we will be okay. I think we should set up camp for tonight or
one of us might catch a cold and there's no way of getting a doctor up here
so we will have to be extra careful right?” Li asked everyone.
“I agree,” Zachery said, a sense of courage in his voice. “We need to think
about ourselves for right now and in the morning we will worry.” Chelsea who
was still clung to him nodded. After her Nikki nodded then Rita then
Madison. Li looked down at Sakura who was crying and she put her head on his
chest and nodded in agreement. Li blushed redder than a beet. Luckily for him
it was dark and no one saw.
“Okay, lets start with the *cough cough* tent,” Li commanded; his voice getting
hoarse again. Everyone thought that getting their mind of the `incident' was
best and in a minute Li had things for everyone to do.
“Zachery is in charge of the tent.”
“Chelsea and Rita are in charge of food.”
“And Maddison is in charge of spreading the sleeping bags in the tent.”
“I will light a fire,” Li finished. Sakura looked up at him.
“W-w-what can I do, Li?”
“Ummmm, I... well... you can help me,” He replied.
And with that Li and Sakura looked for rocks to build a barrier.
Rita and Chelsea had dug out some flash lights and was using them to look
through the food bag for things they could cook.
Madison waited as Zachery puzzled at the box. Remembering what Mr. Avalon
had said she opened a small latch on the side. There was a big wooosh noise
as a mass off tarps, and poles sprung outand atatched themselves by magnets
near the ends. Everyone turned to look at the tent which was putting itself
together. Sakura giggled at the face Zachery made, he was stunned. And for the
first time that day she giggled. And in moments everyone was. Li looked at her
with amazement.
She’s been so terrified the past few hours for everyone but herself, then
finds it in herself to giggle to make people around her feel happy in a time
like this. Li thought to himself as the tent snapped its last ends together
and everyone regained themselves and assumed their work. The tent was a deep
blue with big yellow stars on the inside and out. Sakura loved that
tent... since the first time she went camping in it when she was six. Sakura
was lost in a flashback when she heard Nikki say:
“I feel a lot better now... in fact I almost feel happy.” Nikki said cheerfully.
“Well it would be better just to forget about it and It won’t do us any good
being sad all the time,” Rita assured with a more cheery expression.
Sakura felt better already Madison giggled as Zachery tried to explain the
story about how camping was invented once again.
Li had found some dry wood and put kindling on the bottome then larger
branches on top and when no one was watching but Sakura he took out his
odifous and whispered the incantation.
“Force know my phlight, release the light, fire,” and a small spurt of fire
flew from the tip of his sword in to the fire and it crackled
merrily. Everyone looked and clapped at his expertise.
Glad no one saw that or I would have some explaining to do.
As Madison was rolling out the last of the sleeping bags and Zachery was
chatting to Nikki, Chelsea, and Rita while they found the last things they
could cook. So Li and Sakura sat down by the fire watching it crack and spit
and pop. Sakura was getting tired, Li could see her eyes droop slightly. Then
feeling the full weight of her sleepy head on her shoulders she lent her
head up against his shoulder. Li’s blush spread like a disease across his
face. Maddison emerged from the tent and winked at Li then went to see how
the food group was doing. Li thought for a sec, then looked down at Sakura’s
sleepy form. Her eyelids drooped over theangelic green eyes like a vail, and
her light auburn hair rested lightly on her shoulders.
“We’re gonna have hotdogs and marshmellows!!” announced Madison with a
giggly voice. Li almost chuckled. Maddison’s voice jolted Sakura awake.
“Great, I’m starved,” she replied aliitle sleepily.
So everyone grabbed a stick and stuck their hot dog on the end and held it
over the fire. Bursts of laughter erupted as Rita’s hot dog bumped into
Nikki’s and it fell into the fire. Even Li laughed which was strange even to
him.
I’ve never really had real friends before. So this is what
a normal kid must feel like. Surounded by friends. Li thought.
“Who wants to hear a ghost story?” Nikki announced.
“I do!” Zachery answered.
“Me too,” Rita replied followed by Chelsea’s and Li’s answers. Then only answer
she didn't get was Sakura’s.
“Don’t worry, Sakura. I’ll make it a midly scary, okay?”
“Ugh... s-s-s-sure...” She stammered as Nikki told a story about a
lady who is supposed to live in the woods because she was shunned out by her
family for falling in love with an enemy to her country.
“And they say that you can see her late at night when the moon is full
looking for someone to talk to,” Nikki ended.
“Wow, what was the lady’s name, Nikki?” Chelsea asked.
“Her name was Seeyariiya,” Nikki replied proud of herself.

Madison stole a glance at Sakura. She was biting her nails, looking over her
shoulder every few minutes.
“Well,” yawned Chelsea, “We should probably tuck in now, don’t ya think?”
“Ya, I’m tired,” said Rita cracking her knuckles.
Everyone got up and headed for the tent. Zachery argued about having to sleep
in a tent full of girls and as an answer Chelsea grabbed him by the ear and
dragged him into the tent. Since they’re were only 4 slepping bags and 7 of
them they all paired up and settled down for the night.
Nikki paired with Rita.
Li didn’t feel like sleeping so he took his sleeping bag out side and sat up
against a tree, about 5 meters from the edge of the cliff. After a while he
found himself lost in thought.
Why was he so scared about telling Sakura that he loved her? He wanted to
tell her so bad... but what if she rejects me? And what if I hurt her
feelings... I promised Tori I would take care of her...
~*~*~*~IN THE TENT~*~*~*~
Everyone else was sleeping. Madisons sleeping form on her left and Zachery
on his right. After hearing Nikki’s ghost story she was afraid to close her
eye’s... and keep them open. Sakura was wide awake. She couldn’t stay in the
tent any longer... so carefully without waking Madison, she slipped out of
their sleeping bag and unzippered the door. She forgot how loud the zipper
was. Nikki stirred in her sleep and Chelsea scratched her nose then turned
over on her side. Sakura inched the zipper open little by little until it was
wide open. She stepped outside into the ice cold air. She rubbed her
shoulders and saw her breath as she looked around. Hoping that she would not
see any Seeyariiya anywhere. Suddenly, she heard a low crack. She started
walking backwards and she looked in all directions... left right left right.
Until she tripped and fell backwords. She let out a small scream and curled
up in a ball.
Oh my gosh Seeyyariiya is gonna get me........eeeeeeeeeeek!
“Sakura, it's okay, it's just me!” She heard a familiar voice yell. She felt a
hand on the back of her neck. Her eyes flutterd open to see Li’s cocerned
face looking down on her. She was sitting in his lap with his hand on the
back of her neck and the othe on her upper-back. He had caught her just
before she fell.
She could have fallen of the cliff if she had of walked any
more... then... she would have been...
Li felt an overwelming feeling of fear. He pulled her into an embrace so tight
Sakura couldn’t move. Sakura sat there... her heart thumped fearfully fast as
Li wrapped his strong arms around her and quickly let her go again. Sakura
was so frighened she didn’t know how to react.
“What are you doing out here, Sakura?” Li asked his voice a shaky whisper.
“Y-ya, ya, I am okay. I couldn’t sleep... so I came out and...”
“Almost walked backwards over a cliff,” Li interupted, ”You could have killed
yourself just now Sakura!” Li tried to yell but he began to cough; his breath
came in little clouds of steam into the night air. The moon lit Sakura’s
angelic emerald eyes and Li immediately apologized.
“I thought y-you were Seeyariiya...” Sakura’s voice trembled as she
shivered from the cold laying on Li’s lap while he lay half in his sleeping
bag. Li felt bad for her. In one day she had been
traumatized, wounded, distaught and now cold and scared. He pulled up the flap
of the sleeping bag for Sakura. She looked at it for a sec, then climbed in
with him. She was crying again as the both watched the moon. Bright and
shining. A large breeze blew icy air over Sakura like an icy blanket.
Brrrrrrrrr, it's so cold...But the moon is so beautiful.
Too bad it can’t make Tomeoda beautiful again.
Sakura snuggled up to Li watching the moon beat down on them like the sun.
Li looked down and blushed, but he too stared at the moon with amazement.
Its seems so hard to believe... This feels like
I saw this in movie... A movie called my life... at least
Sakura’s okay... she seems so scared... I will do anything I can to help...
It seems so quiet... too quiet... I can’t stand it!!! What is Seeyariiya
comes for me... aaaggghhh!!!
“Um... Li...”Sakura whispered sort of embarassed of what she was about to
say.
“Yes, Sakura,” Li looked down on her, his amber eyes shone with concern and his
dark chestnut hair blew slightly in the wind over the bandages that covered
the cuts on his face. It hurt Sakura to see the bandages over his face, the
pain he endured for her.
“Ugh... can I... turn on the radio?” Sakura stammered embarrased. Li looked
confused for a second, then wriggled out of the sleeping bag and, using the
tree for support,then limped to the duffle bag of food and pulled a little
red radio out of the side pocket. Then he limped back almost tripping twice
back to the sleeping bag and snuggled back in. He handed the radio to Sakura
and returned his gaze to the moon. Sakura stared at him for a few minutes
before finding the tuning button and turning it. Static, disorted voices and
music fragments pierced through the icy silent air like a knife through
butter. Finally, she decided on a station.
“This is 101.5 FM, the Wolf,” said the male radio voice.
(A/N: The Wolf is an actual radio channel in
Canada cuz I don’t know any chinese radio stations... so)
Sakura was glad for the noise but something still troubled her. She looked
up at Li who was still staring at the moon with great interest.
I wonder if maybe... I should tell Sakura now...
I never got a chance to and I want her to know how I feel in case
anything happens... I want her to know that there is someone here who
loves her more than just a friend. Li sighed
and loooked down at Sakura who was staring right back at him with confused
emerald eyes.
“Are you okay, Li?” She asked.
“Oh... I um... y-ya, I'm o-okay, sure,” Li stammered realizing for the first
time how close he was to Sakura. Sakura looked at him deep in his eyes then
turned her attention back to the radio which was telling the forcast.
PHEW!! That was close... Hmmmm, there's just something about the moon tonight
that I just can’t get my mind off... but why?
“Okay, all you listeners out there, we have some breaking news for you
tonight. Men in black uniforms are resbonsible for the unlawful mass
hommicide at the Tomeoda amusment park today. 345 people dead, 43 wounded and
12 missing. The men are apparently looking for people they call “Card Captors”
and that anyone with information should contact this radio station. The
police cannot do anythig to stop these men they are virtually impossible to
defeat, already the SWAT team has been destoyed and the Navy has also
fallen prey to this monstrosity. To all you innocent people out there, we
wish you luck and for all those who are just holding on there, this ones for
you, This is Avril Lavighn in Keep Holding On...
The news of all those people and the wounded caused Sakura to burst out in
uncontrollable tears. Li was also shocked at the number of fatalities.
Those men did that because they were looking for us. We must be the ones
missing... but there were seven of us and no one could have gotten out before
or after the we crashed through the gates either because the guards swarmed
it. How....
Li looked down at Sakura who was crying loudly. Tears spilled from her eyes.
One hit Li’s hand, and not being able to take her pain any longer he put his
hand on her cheek and with his thumb, gently wiped the tears away. Sakura
smiled a scared little smile but let tears flow freely from her eyes like
rain. Li put his hands on her shoulders and pulled her into an embrace.
(A/N AGAIN. Just like the embrace at the swingset
when Sakura poured her heart out to Li... just thought i’d paint a mental
picture for ya sorry!!)
Sakura contineud to cry for what seemed like hours. Li took her hand and
told her it's okay but it wouldn’t work. So he held her hand and told her,
“Your not alone, Sakura. I’m right here, I’ll never be to far away alright now.
Please stop crying, please,” Li pleaded his eyes were starting to water up
slghtly.
And with little resistance Sakura sniffed a few times and quietly settled
down.
“Thank you Li I needed that.”Sakura thanked greatfully.
“No problem,” Li turned his head again towards the moon.
Aaaaaa, I’m getting sense from something I can feel magical energy somewhere
nearby. Maybe Sakura feels it too.
“Sakura, do sense anything from around here?” He asked.
Li must sense something... Hmmm, I don’t know everything seems all muddy.
Wait! I think I sense something from over there!
“I think I sense something over there,” Sakura replied in a shaky
voice. ”What if it's Seeyariiya... Li, wait!”
Li again wriggled out of the sleeping bag and limped towards the pitch black
forest. Sakura didn’t wan’t to be alone so she limped after him.
I can’t see anything... He said to him self.
Then pulled out his sword and whispered the incantation.
“Force, know my plight, release the light. Fire.” A big burst
of flame erupted from the blade of his sword into the dying embers of the
fire and again the rekindled fire lit up a small part of the once pitch
black forest. Sakura limped behind Li listening careflly.
I hope it's not the ghost of Seeyariiya......... or worse one of
those...men!!!
“Ugh, Li, what do you think it is?”
“I’m not sure but the only way to find out would be to follow the sense.
Don’t worry. I don’t think it's any thing dangerous,” Li assured. Sakura heard
a crack behind her. She quickly spun around on her heals hoping that the
ghost of Seeyariiya wasn’t staring back at her.
Fortunately for Sakura, nothing was there. Li turned and motioned for her to
follow him.
If this thing is dangerous I don’t want to leave Sakura alone,
like when I was controled by all those strings or the teddy bear incident that almost
cost Julian his house. No way, am I gonna leave her alone with no one to
protect her. Over my dead body!!!
Suddenly, a shadow moved through the trees slowly as if floating. Li’s breath
stopped in his lungs and for a few minutes he just stood rock still.
“W-whats wrong, Li?” Sakura asked as she tip toed behind Li. He spun around
and slapped his hand over her mouth with lightning fast speed. She barely
had time to react when she saw the cuase of Li’s odd behavior. While Li’s
head was turned a shadow moved along the trees... Like a ghost floating
lonely through the pitch black woods. Sakura almost screamed her heart was
racing wildy.
This is it. The ghost is gonna get us, I knew it would happen, oh god, someone
help us!!!! I promise I won’t make fun of Kero anymore, I promise I won't
annoy my brother anymore when he has Julian over, I promise I won't sleep in
anymore, I promise I promise, just any thing to make the ghost go
away!!!!!!!!! Sakura’s mind
screamed as she thrashed an flailed panickly but Li held her steady.
“Sakura you have to be quiet, please be quiet,” Li whispered. The ghostly
shadow must have heard them because it started stalking their way. Another
shadow about half the size of the first one raced out from behind a tree and
joined the first one. The two shadows moved slowly through the trees so
silently Li’s ears started to buzz from listening to hard. Sakura stopped
thrashing as her eyes opened wide watching the two things approach them
slowly. Sakura couldn’t stand it she felt she was going to faint. She used her
remaining strength to wrap her arms around Li’s neck and hug him with all
her might. Li didn’t know what to do, Sakura was practically clinging to him
for dear life and there were two things of unknown identity approaching
them. He held his sword out to the shadows with one hand while using the
other to wrap around Sakura for protection. The shadows moved closer and
closer, not even intimidated by the sword. Li had no choice but to push
Sakura behind him, he gave her a little shove and she stumbled behind
him. Noticing the shadows still stalked closer and closer to them, Sakura
clutched the back of Li’s shirt and pressed her face into his back. Li had no
time to blush, if these things were dangerous he would have to defend Sakura
with all he’s got. Li could see the fire was still blazing back at the camp
which was about 60 yards back, then an idea popped in his head. He turned
slightly and pointed his sword at the little fire.
“Force know my phlight, release the light! FIRE!” he yelled. This time a huge
burst of blood red flames exploded from the end of the sword towards the
little fire. The force of the fire leaving the sword almost caused them both
to fall over, Sakura muffled a scream as she buried her face in Li’s
back. The flames exploded into a bonfire that blew screaming hot air towards
Sakura and Li. Li turned and hugged Sakura with all his might now, waiting
for the blast to end. In seconds the burning air ceased and Li looked up at
the shadows, which stood in the same spot they had been in when Li put his
plan into action. Li meraculously smiled as two fimiliar figures greeted his
eyes. He nudged Sakura a liitle who refused to look up. She could feel somone
petting the back of her hair.
“Sakura, it's okay... It's me...” Came a voice that Sakura longed to hear. Her
head flew up to reveal a face that she saw so often.
“Yue!” She yelled and jumped at him with a hug that could resemble a vice.
“Hello, Sakura are you okay?” His low tone of voice told Sakura he was
worried.
“Y-ye-yes, I’m okay...” She cried. Her tears fell from her face onto Yue’s
back. Sakura looked up to see someone else she was so worried about sinse
they left.
“Kero,” she whispered. Tears fell from her eyes as Kero nudged her head with
his nose, his golden fur sparkled in the light of the fire.
How did they find us? They must have have sensed our magic or else we are
impossible to spot... I geuss I should put the fire out or else the tent
will catch on fire.
Li thought relieved that all was safe and secure he walked as close as he
could to the fire and again whispered the incantation over the roaring fire.
“Force, know my plight, release the light. Water.” And with that a stream of
icy blue water shot out from the tip of the sword like a hose and quickly
the fire was tame.
While Li was taming the out of control fire, Yue, Sakura and Kero sat on the
forest floor talking quietly amongst each other.
“I heard what happened,” Yue said expressionless. “They are looking for you
everywhere...”
“Shhhhhh, Yue, you’ll scare her!” Kero whispered in Yue’s ear. Yue nodded and
continued.
“I’m glad you are safe, but I’m not sure it's entierly safe up here is
it?” Kero said worriedly the blood red gems shone with the light of the dying
fire. Li had succesfully tamed the fire and was limping back to them
painfully and exhaustedly sat down beside Sakura and joined in the
conversation.
“I think we’ll be okay up here, Tori said that the men won't risk having their
men lost and that they would stick to man made buildings and roads,” Li
explained hoarsely.
“That's probably right but I don't like leaving you two up here alone with
little or no protection,” Kero replied anxiously. Yue nodded in
agreement. Sakura looked at Li with big watery eyes.
“Do you really think we’ll be okay?” She asked. It pierced Li’s heart for her
not to feel safe.
“I’m sure we are,” he confirmed.
Well, I think we’ll be safe... now that Li is here but where will Kero and Yue
go? They can’t return to the city they will... get hurt... No, I won't let
that happen!!!
“Where will you two hide?” She asked. Yue and Kero exchanged glances.
“I’m not going to hide. I will change back into my borrowed form and pretend
to be a stuffed animal,” Kero proudly replied.
“And I will also turn into my borrowed form, and I’ll stay with your brother
Sakura,” Yue told her again, his voice expressionless.
Sakura smiled at Yue...
Either know Julian never felt the same for me I still think of Yue as my
other big brother.
Sakura smiled at the thought.
“Thank-you... Y-Yue...” Sakura began to cry again. Li took her in his arms
and rubbed her back.
“It’s okay, Sakura, don’t cry, please,” Li pleaded. Li looked up to Yue. Li’s
eyes widened in shock as he saw the expression on Yue’s face.
I-I-IS YUE SMILING!!! NO, I MUST BE DELIRIOUS... NO, HE IS SMILING!!!
BUT WHY?
Kero had a suspiciose look on his face watching Sakura in the arms of that
kid...
I am glad Sakura is safe...In times of peril, people's feelings change and
show and it might show Sakura who she truly has feelings for... Master Li
does have strong feelings for her. He saved her life... If any person risks
his life for another then that person must mean alot to them... Yue thought.
“Well, you two should get some rest. You have a difficult day ahead,” Kero
said standing and stretching out. Yue too stood and replaced his hands on
his hips. Sakura was up on her feet before he could say wait. She gave Kero a
flying hug, almost knocking Kero to the ground.
“P-p-please b-b-be careful, Kero...” She sobbed.
“I will I promise,” Kero said pulling away from Sakura... and walking up to
the cliff.
“We will be back to make sure you are okay. Alright?” Yue asked.
“Okay.”
Then as fast as they appeared, Kero and Yue hit the edge of the cliff at a
running start. Opening their wings majestically as they flew over the the dark
woods below.
“Good-bye... Kero... Yue...” Sakura whispered. She never took her eyes
off their disappearing silhouette the moon reflected in her beautiful emerald
eyes and her auburn hair was blown by a gentle breeze the whole seen took
Li’s breath away. Even when Li limped and stood beside her she never took
her eyes off them. They both watched them as they both disappeared into the
night.
“Kero is right, Sakura,” he said. She turned and faced him with a confused
look.
“Kero said we should get some rest. We do have a long difficult day tomarrow
and I don’t think there's every been a time before now that you COULDN’T
sleep,” Sakura giggled a little and started walking towards the sleeping bag
where she and Li had watched the moon.
“Ugh, Sakura, the tent is that way,” Li said pointing in its direction.
“I know... do you mind if I stay out here with you tonight... for some reason
that tent kinda... scares me,” Sakura finished embarrased at what she
said. Li limped up beside her and guided her the way to the sleeping bag.
Sakura wriggled in but Li didn’t. Instead, he covered Sakura up and limped
over to the edge of the cliff. He sat down and (Either know it wasn’t the
safest thing he could have done) dangled his legs over the edge, watching
the moon. The stars glistened like diamonds.
“Li?” Sakura asked looking at him with drooping eyes.
“Yes”
“Thank you”
“For what?”
“Oh, nothing, just thank you...” And with that Sakura had fallen asleep, the
sleeping bag pulled up to her neck. Li just sighed.
What a day... things seem... a little better now. We know we will be safe. We
know Kero and Yue will be safe and we can watch over Tomoeda from here. He
thought looking down on the panic sticken town.
Thank god, we are all safe... But I just can’t stop thinking about those 5
other people and how they got out... they couldn’t have gotten out before we
went through the gates cause they were closed... And they couldn’t have went
through the gates when they were torn of either because the guards swarmed
the gates like bees. So... how did they get out? Oh well at least this
big hellish nightmare is over...
Li limped back to the sleeping bag and snuggled in beside Sakura.
~*~*~*~MOON MANSION~*~*~*~
“Oh no, my dear-dear-desendent, it's just the beginning.. hmm hmm hmm.”
“But master, how did those other people get out... It wasn’t part of the
plan?”
“Yes, those 5 other people... WHERE ARE THEY NOW!”
“I do not know... who they are. How they escaped. And where they are
now...but I think we will know soon enough...”
AUTHORS NOTE: I try to make my endings kinda luring so people will wanna
read the next chapter..I hope it worked. The radio station they were listing
to is real and so is the song from Avril Lavighn. I thought it would match
