Sakura Avalon is a cuter-than-cutest heroine of the show. She attends Reedington Elementary, and was just an ordinary girl until she accidentary broke the seal on the Clow Book and let the Clow Cards loose. She became the chosen cardcaptor to get the Cards back before they wreck havoc in the world. With the help from Kero, Li, and Madison, now she's become the mistress of all the Clow Cards. Dispite her powerful strength to be the mistress of the Cards, she is easy to be scared of ghosts.

Unlike the other mahou-shoujos (meaning ‘anime girls who use magic’), Sakura doesn't transform, but she changes into battle costumes made by Madison Taylor when capturing a Card. So she is the cute little cosplay queen as well as our heroine.

Tori is Sakura's reliable brother. He always works so hard that Sakura sees him work everywhere she goes. In fact, he is very protective toward Sakura. This statement is based upon the fact that he watched her throughout the Final Judgement. Opposing to his true emotion, he enjoys teasing Sakura every chance he gets, just like in the common older-brother fashion.

Tori is one and only in his family that can see his deceased mother Natasha. Tori actually has a power strong enough to sense and see ghosts. Because he talked about every ghosts he saw when he was a kid, Sakura has become timid of ghosts.

Aiden is Sakura and Tori's father, who is almighty; he is a good cook, a good sewer, and a good athlete. He is an archeology professor at a university, so he is a busy man with lectures, excavation, and so on. For this reason, he tries his hardest to spend his time with his children when he is home.

Originally, Aiden took the possession of the Clow Book some place, but he who doesn't have magical powers couldn't open the book, leaving the book in his basement until Sakura borke the seal. Nevertheless, Aden is a half of Clow Reed's reincernation.

Natasha is Sakura and Tori's mother who died when Sakura was three. She was brought up in a wealthy family, and she had been working as a model since her junior high school days. When she was 16, she fell in love with Aiden, her archeology teacher, and married him. Although her marriage was badly opposed by her family, she lived a happy married life with her husband and two happy children until she died from illness.

Aiden is still so deeply in love with Natasha that he changes her pictures in the frame on the dining table every morning. Tori can see her, when she's back home from the beatiful place high in the sky. Although Sakura doesn't remember anything about Natasha, Sakura loves her mother since she has heard many stories of Natasha.

Madison is Sakura's best friend. She hangs out with Sakura every time Sakura captures a Clow Card, videotaping Sakura in the costume she makes. She is the child of a wealthy family, whose mother is the CEO of a successful toy company. However, unlike common rich brats, Madison is so peaceful minded that Sakura relies on her. She is mentally mature for her age, and she never gets out of her mind no matter what happens, except when she misses a chance to videotape Sakura capturing a Card.

Li is Clow Reed's descendant on his sister side, and he can use magic with his blade and incantation cards. He came from Hong Kong to capture the unsealed Clow Card, and didn't think good way of Sakura at first. In the course of capture, his rivalry toward Sakura gradually changed into crush, then he many times assisted her capturing the Cards. Even after Sakura has become the mistress the Cards, he supported Sakura for the transformation of the Cards into Star Cards.

Only CCS: At first, Syaoran had a crush on Yukito, until Yue told him that Syaoran was merely fooled by the moon magic coming from Yukito.

Julian, who is Tori's best friend, can do anything, like he is smart and great athlete, plus he is kind. Sakura has a crush on him, since she fell in love at the first sight. He doesn't belong to any clubs, but he oftern subs in games for many clubs that rely on him. He is always hungry, and eat way too much.

However, Julian Star is his just temporary form. In fact, he is Yue, the second guardian of the Clow Cards, who takes charge of the judge to see if the candidate elected by Keroberos is appropriate for the master of the Cards. Of course, he recognized Sakura as the master of the Clow Cards in the Final Judgement.
